Falcon is out and ready to cash in!

Ravi Dahr’s AMERICAN MUSCLE is finally unleashed today on BLU-RAY and DVD in all of its unrated glory! You can also watch it on INSTANT VIDEO. The film tells the heart-warming tale of:

John Falcon (Nick Principe) is a bad, bad man. But he didn’t deserve to go to prison. Now, after 10 years of hard time, he’s hell-bent on revenge. Screaming across the scarred landscape of the Yucca Valley, Falcon’s got 24 hours to inflict brutal vengeance on everyone he holds responsible for putting him away. Including his own brother.

In my opinion Director and DP RAVI DHAR gave the material a fresh spin via his stylized visuals. While I was on set all I kept thinking was this is gonna look like a Cannon film meets David Lynch meets Mad Max. And upon seeing the end result; yup, I was pretty much right.

Like I’ve said before, this was one of the most enjoyable shoots I’ve ever been on, one of the most collaborative and is definitely the most memorable.  I am proud of all that we accomplished and of the film itself. Some will dig it, some won’t, just how it goes. My advice; crack open a beer and just have fun. It’s that kind of movie! Brutal, smutty and trashy with an artsy streak.

AMERICAN MUSCLE stars Nick Principe, Todd Farmer , Robin Sydney, George P. Wilbur, Jennifer Wenger, Trent Haaga and I play mute badass Tongues in it.  It was produced by Snowfort Pictures and Automatic Entertainment. It was  written by yours truly.

Update and new stills from The Shelter!

September 26th, 2014 No comments

Hey all, an update! THE SHELTER post production is advancing. Colorist Bobby Holbrook is finding the right tones, VFX house Null Effects are completing the varied VFX shots (and doing some great work at that), composer Shawn Knippelberg is discovering the proper vibe for the film (he’s getting there) while sound editor Colby Huval is giving the film an added potent layer via his sound work. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

On that, I feel blessed to be working with so many talented people and I feel more and more confident about the film every day. The movie should be completed with Post by the end of  October. Now I’ve been sharing some pics on the films Official Facebook Page but I figured I’d share some of them here for those of you who don’t do the Facebook thing. That’s it for now! Talk soon!

New American Muscle trailer and first review!

September 3rd, 2014 No comments

Distributors WellGoUSA have unleashed a new and “safer” trailer for AMERICAN MUSCLE (order the Blu-Ray here) and you can see it below! A first review also surfaced at Filmstarts; it’s in German; here are a couple of choice quotes, roughly translated:

“Here heads are not just blown away, but also have their tongues bitten out and then trampled flat with coarse boots. This is already so over-the-top that one “American Muscle” can not really be taken seriously. But the special pleasure is that it is told nevertheless seriously.”

“Committed to the spirit of the old B-movies is writer and actor John Fallon (“Death Race”), who tackled the greatest difficulty in conceiving a sleek story structure with an absolute maximum of Sex and Violence.”

The full review is here. Google Translate at will!

AMERICAN MUSCLE stars genre vets Nick Principe, Todd Farmer, Robin Sydney, George P. Wilbur, Jennifer Wenger, Trent Haaga and my sorry ass.  It was produced by Snowfort Pictures and Automatic Entertainment. It was directed/shot by the uber talented Ravi Dhar, written by me and bettered by all the creative talent involved. This one was definitely a TEAM SPORT. I am proud of this one, and along with how The Shelter is shaping up; that’s two for two – I am f-ing happy right now.
