I grew up reading Fangoria. There would be no Arrow in the Head without Fangoria. I pretty much learned all I needed to learn about horror, filmmaking, FX etc. reading that mag. So yeah, it’s always a trip for me when I appear in Fango. With that; I recently chatted with the FANGORIA WEBSITE about DEAD SHADOWS and here’s an except below, read the whole thing HERE.
“Once all hell breaks loose, my character becomes a father figure to the young lead—one who is all about tough love, and has no time for weak-tit behavior, but a father figure nonetheless.” The character, also named John (“Big stretch there,” the actor deadpans), left a lot of room for interpretation. “When I got the script, he was very vague and mysterious, which I thought was kind of cool because it gave me the opportunity to make my own decisions and define him the way I saw him—come up with a background, why’s he like this, why’s he like that. John was always basically a man who hates people, is very angry, and once the shit hits the fan, he finally finds himself in a scenario he’s comfortable in. Basically, he’s good at killing, and it’s time to kill.”
The first official teaser trailer (see it below) for David Cholewa’s DEAD SHADOWS has hit the web and so has its Official Website (check it here). Gotta say it, it’s looking great! DEAD SHADOWS stars Fabian Wolfrom, Blandine Marmigère, badass Rurik Sallé and myself and here’s what it’s about:
Dead Shadows is about: A young man, named Chris (Wolfrom), whose parents were brutally killed 11 years ago, on the same day that Halley’s comet could be seen from earth. Tonight, a new comet is appearing and everyone in his building are getting ready for a party to celebrate the event. There’s even an apocalypse theory going around. As the night falls, Chris discovers that peop…le are starting to act strange – and it seems to somehow be connected to the comet. They are becoming disoriented and violent and it doesn’t take long before they begin to mutate into something far beyond this world. In a fight for survival, Chris tries to escape from his building with the help of a gun taunting tenant named John (Fallon) – but will they make it out alive?
Visit the DEAD SHADOWS FACEBOOK HERE and look for Dead Shadows to have a presence at this year’s Cannes Film festival. Director David Cholewa will be there and I will also try to be there to support the film.
