My directorial debut The Shelter, starring Michael Paré wraps production!

Hey all! We just wrapped production on my feature length directorial debut called THE SHELTER, starring Michael Paré. I am in the process of writing a production journal that I will share with you all sooner than later, but first, I have to beat this damn flu that sneaked up on me after the shoot. So for now, here is the official press release. Thanks to all who supported me in this crazy suicide mission. More soon!

JOHN FALLON’S THE SHELTER, STARRING MICHAEL PARE WRAPS PRODUCTION

Producer Donny Broussard, Writer/Director John Fallon and star Michael Paré!

Louisiana, January 23, 2014: John Fallon, founder of the horror website ArrowintheHead.com and his team have wrapped production on The Shelter in Louisiana on January 19th, 2014.

The film is a supernatural thriller that stars veteran actor Michael Paré (The Lincoln Lawyer, Eddie and the Cruisers) along with Gayle James, Rachel Whittle, Brigette Rose, Anastasia Brook and Amy Wickenheiser. The film is financed by Bruise Productions and JoBlo Movie Productions, an affiliate of the film site JoBlo.com, will enter post production shortly and is at the same time seeking distribution.

Fallon directed the film from his own screenplay, Donny Broussard (Little Houses) produced the film while Bobby Holbrook of Holbrook Multi-Media is its director of photography. Thomas Wilson (James Wan’s The Conjuring and Insidious: Chapter 2) acts as the film’s VFX Supervisor.

John Fallon has acted in over 20 films including such genre favorites as Saw 2, Death Race and 100 Feet, and has written 8 produced screenplays. This film is his full-length feature directorial debut, although he previously directed the award-winning short The Red Hours. “Directing a feature has been my Holy Grail for 10 years. I am elated that my dream has finally come true. I was blessed with a relentless and talented team, a solid cast and a fearless lead actor and even with the hardships in tow, it was the most fun I’ve ever had working on a film. Post Production can’t come soon enough. We have something special on our hands.”

Paré, a veteran actor with over 100 credits to his name was immediately intrigued by the film’s screenplay: “The Shelter tells a great and painful tragedy. Not about global disaster or war or economic collapse but of the individual human heart. The human heart and soul is what all art seeks to unravel. Guilt, regret and shame kill the heart and soul. When our lower animal nature dominates our character our soul is lost.”

On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas (Michael Paré) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. He strolls on in thinking he just caught a lucky break and for a while, it would appear as though he did. But soon enough, he realizes that the house won’t let him leave, as its doors are all locked while its windows cannot be opened or broken. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place. What does it want from him? Will he survive the ordeal?
